PlanB Consulting was formed in 2007 to provide Business Continuity and Crisis Management consultancy services to the private, public and third sectors. We specialise in implementing Business Continuity Management Systems in accordance with the BCI Good Practice Guidelines 'Lifecycle', as well as in delivering Crisis Management and Emergency Planning consultancy, training and exercises. The company Headquarters are located in Linwood, near Glasgow, with an additional office in central London.
PlanB’s Consultants have considerable Business Continuity and Crisis Management experience, and have delivered projects for a range of clients; from multinational FTSE 100 companies to small, independent business as well as a variety of public sector institutions. PlanB Consulting work for a range of clients across the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as routinely delivering projects for clients throughout Europe, in the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

Business Continuity Training (BCT) was formed by industry experts in 2008 and has grown into a global leader in Business Continuity training. As a Business Continuity Institute (BCI) licensed training provider, BCT runs public courses across the UK and Northern Ireland and have expanded their reach to Europe also, delivering trainings in Milan, Prague and Munich. They also provide in-house training worldwide, successfully delivering courses to organisations in Europe, the USA, Russia and the Middle East. BCT also trains many overseas students at its UK training venues.
BCT works with the best tutors in the industry, including our directors Charlie and Kim Maclean-Bristol and Principal Consultant Ewan Donald, who facilitate numerous courses each year to British, European and international participants. Charlie additionally acts as BCT’s Director of Training, updating and developing the company’s course material. He also writes weekly industry insights featured on BCT’s Business Continuity Training Newsletter and website.
Woodsmill Risk Consultants is a Kenyan-based company which provides Risk Management and Business Continuity framework development, training and exercises, disaster recovery and crisis management support services. The consultancy operates in Kenya and the greater East African region and works for private, notfor-profit and public sector organisations.
The founding director David Karimi studied his MSc. Risk Management course in the UK and graduated with Distinction, after which he gained valuable experience working as an intern at PlanB Consulting. In this role, he dealt with a wide range of companies and helped them undergo various stages of the business continuity lifecycle through to achievement of ISO 22301 accreditation. The internship at PlanB Consulting proved to be an inspiration for David to set up Woodsmill Risk Consultants in his home country Kenya.
