Response
PlanB Consulting can provide specialist response plans to deal with high-risk and sensitive threats, both within and outside the UK.
Training
PlanB Consulting can provide training for senior managers in responding to incidents where the reputation or even the long-term viability of the organisation could be threatened.
Case Study
PlanB Consulting was approached by a government agency that has a statutory responsibility to respond and to provide the lead in certain incidents. Their Senior Management Team felt that they did not have sufficient training to deal with an incident.
PlanB Consulting was asked to carry out training for the Senior Management Team of the organisation, who had had a number of near misses over the severe winter and wanted to be better prepared to take part in government exercises.
PlanB Consulting provided them with training, covering the following:
- An introduction to incident management.
- Their role in an emergency.
- The type of incident which would cause them to invoke the strategic plan.
- Incident decision making.
- Crisis communications.
The training was a great success, and comments on the feedback forms varied from “enjoyed” to “the workshop was a useful mechanism to highlight key issues and simple tools to use on the day.” PlanB Consulting has been asked to carry out similar training for members of tactical and operational teams.
Travel Security
The Japanese earthquake, the Icelandic volcano and the Arab spring have all affected business travellers, and many companies have realised that they did not have adequate procedures, protocols and structures in place for reacting to events and for looking after their staff. PlanB Consulting can help you put in place protocols which staff must follow before travelling outside their host country. These can include: country risk assessments prior to leaving; submission of detailed itineraries and contact information; medical risk assessment and inoculations; and security briefing prior to leaving. While staff are travelling, PlanB Consulting can help develop plans and procedures for dealing with any event. Typical events planned for could range from medical emergency, country evacuation, becoming involved in a natural or man-made disaster, to robbery and being caught up in a terrorist attack such as the attack on the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai.
Plans and Media Response
PlanB Consulting has developed a wide range of crisis plans for a number of different organisations. These have varied from plans for specific events such as kidnap and extortion to product recall /contamination plans. More general plans have included ‘all-risks’ plans at the strategic level, which gives a robust framework for the senior managers to manage any incident. All strategic or ‘crisis plans’ always include a communications and managing the media element. Built into the plans are how to use social media in managing incidents.
PlanB Consulting’s plans have been used in action and have proved their worth in managing an incident.
Due to the sensitivity of some of these plans further information and case studies are only available on request.
