Jamie Donald serves as one of our Crisis Communications subject matter experts, having previously worked in marketing, media and public relations companies for over ten years. He offers his clients a unique insight into how media organisations respond to and influence crisis situations, having previously served as Chief Sub Editor at a national daily newspaper. His involvement in reporting and editing high-profile news stories on national and international scales, combined with his knowledge of how media outlets analyse press statements and assess newsworthiness, makes him the ideal partner to review your organisation's external communication procedures.
Jamie's experience has been invaluable in the continued development of our own in-house media response simulator, MITS. The ability to simulate another aspect of incident response for our clients has ensured that they feel more confident in their engagement with external agencies, allowing them to rehearse their crisis communication strategies in a realistic, safe learning environment.
Beyond crisis communications, Jamie’s portfolio with PlanB Consulting covers the full spectrum of Business Continuity and Crisis Management. His recent work includes the development of a full crisis and contingency plan for a global law firm’s annual partner conference, coordinating a simulated live exercise for a leading tech company which involved over 150 participants and leading a communications workshop for senior management within a major bookmaker. He is also a Certified Lead Auditor with the BSI, giving him the skills and knowledge to effectively review and analyse an organisation’s readiness for ISO 22301 certification.
When he's off the clock, Jamie loves travelling and experiencing other cultures. Jamie is a huge sports fan and a lifetime Dunfermline Athletic FC supporter.
