Roger’s combination of consultancy and operational experience in incident and crisis management over the last six years brings a perspective grounded in both theoretical and practical best practice to our team. His area of expertise is simulated exercise design and delivery, with experience of both participating and coordinating large multi-team exercises at tactical and operational response levels.
Roger’s portfolio includes conducting a Business Impact Analysis for a FTSE 350 listed Oil & Gas operator, designing and delivering multiple simulated exercises and travel security briefings for a geological exploration company, media incident simulation for a national government agency and plan development for one of the colleges of Cambridge University. Roger also currently assists PlanB Consulting with Quality and Business Continuity Management System support, including assistance to external auditors and leading projects to improve and maintain the systems on an ongoing basis.
Before moving into resilience consultancy, Roger was an Emergency Control Room Operator for a 24/7/365 global Incident Management Centre in Aberdeen, UK. In this role, Roger provided Emergency Response & Crisis Management support to clients for offshore and navel assets, including initial incident notifications, mobilisation of key support personnel, support of medical evacuations from offshore assets to onshore medical providers and Incident Management Team membership in a variety of roles. He also provided remote surveillance and support to clients via personnel and fleet tracking software in high-risk environments, mobilising local response resources in conjunction with the Business Support Operations Centre in Basra, Iraq. Roger’s Oil & Gas industry knowledge led to his participation in several Offshore Installation Manager assessments as a technical role-player, as well as becoming a certified onshore oil spill responder through the UK Department of Business, Environment, Industry & Strategy.
Roger currently serves as a Board Member for Scottish Continuity, a non-for-profit organisation seeking to promote the development of business continuity practice within Scottish organisations and develop a supportive infrastructure for business continuity activities throughout Scotland.
